New Mobility World 2018 is where technology firms, the automotive industry, service providers, cities, startups and disruptors come together to shape the future of mobility, transport and logistics. The FORUM offers IAA visitors an open and inspiring platform with a clear focus on
dialogue, interaction, connectivity and entertainment.
The program will bring together personalities from society, the automotive industry, the digital sector and academia for a discourse on the future of mobility, transport and logistics. The main topics will be urban logistics, transport services, alternative powertrains, driver-assist systems, automated driving and connected commercial vehicles. The program will start on the FORUM stage on Monday, September 24, at 10 h. From then until Wednesday, the conference will run from 10 h to 16.45 h, and on Thursday from 10 h to 15.30 h.
On Monday, the FORUM revolves around urban logistics and transport services. There will be discussions surrounding the challenges of the urban mobility and logistics, for example, the last mile. Experts, visionaries, and decision-makers from the automotive industry will discuss the roles of new technologies – and their potential to meet these challenges.
Alternative powertrains and fuels are topics of a controversial debate throughout society. The discussion revolves around the fueling, charging infrastructure, climate change, air pollution, and the reach of the alternative vehicles. Although the previously listed topics are relevant, passenger vehicles is the subject that is up for debate. But what is the situation of alternative mobility concepts for commercial vehicles? Are these ideas and alternatives even applicable for heavy-duty vehicles and long distances?
Big data, autonomous driving, and artificial intelligence are buzzwords in today’s society. On Wednesday the FORUM focuses on the progress of these new technologies and their impact on the mobility, transportation, and logistics industries. Highlights of the NMW Lab18 include: The winners of NMW’s startup-challenge will be selected. Afterward, experts will discuss the collaboration of startups and corporates in a fireside chat: Who profits? Who wins? How do these collaborations work?
Digitization opens up entirely new paths. On Thursday, experts and decision makers discuss the effects of smart data and intelligent telematics on the mobility industry, how the industry changes and where new areas of applications are about to arise.
