We have some really exciting companies attending the NMW18 and introducing the world to their ideas and products. Here’s a short intro to some of them. If you’re at the NMW18 make sure to go over and introduce yourself 🙂
1. Arbe Robotics
Arbe Robotics is the world’s first company to demonstrate ultra high-resolution 4D imaging radar with post-processing and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). It is disrupting autonomous vehicle sensor development by bridging the gap between radar and optics with its proprietary imaging solution that provides optic sensor resolution with the reliability and maturity of radar technology for level 4 and 5 vehicle autonomy.
Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, Arbe has business development and customer service locations in China and the United States. The company was founded in 2015 and is backed by 360 Capital Partners, Canaan Partners Israel, iAngels, Maniv Mobility, Taya Ventures, and O.G. Tech Ventures.
Kobi Marenko, their Co-Founder & CEO, will be on the FORUM stage on Wednesday, 26. September, as part of a panel on A World of Sensors and Big Data: On the Road to Fully Autonomous Driving.
The Munich-based start-up, founded by former BMW engineers, is developing hydrogen technologies that will enable the world to swiftly evolve from the oil age to the hydrogen age. Batteries support this vital change – however, being based on finite resources (e.g. lithium) they can never be a substitute for new hydrogen technologies.
In 2019 a 12m bus and an 18t truck with their technology will be presented as a prototype, with the first vehicles hitting the streets in 2020. Their current design partner is DEUTZ, but they are also negotiating with other engine and vehicle manufacturers. Keyou has a pilot project in the pipeline with a large OEM, which wants to convert its truck traffic to CO2-free vehicles worldwide (the OEM itself is a car manufacturer). There’s a large interest of the end customer market, with the rail and maritime sector additionally voicing their interest.
CEO Thomas Korn will be on stage during the The new Alternatives: Fuel Cells, Batteries, Supercapacitors and Alternative Fuels panel on Tuesday, 25. September.
