New Mobility World

A Look Back at NMW17

By Editorial Team on September 27, 2017

We officially closed our outdoor PARCOURS on Sunday and we couldn’t thank you more for joining us at NMW17! More than 250 companies and organizations were involved as exhibitors, speakers or partners. Around 7,000 visitors secured their seat for the conference program and we’re grateful for all the positive feedback we’ve received so far.

NMW17 Formats – A Winning Combination

With its three formats HALL, FORUM and PARCOURS, NMW offers various ways to experience, discuss and showcase tomorrow’s mobility. Armin Fendrich, Managing Director of Ridecell EMEA GmbH, emphasized that being present on the FORUM Main stage as well as in the HALL worked very well: “The panel discussion was certainly the highlight for us. After that, we had several interesting discussions at our stand”.

Creating New Networking Opportunities

For many companies, NMW17 was the right platform to meet new prospects, connect with potential partners and discover new technologies. “As a New Mobility World Co-Host, we had the opportunity to exchange with different representatives of the automotive industry. We focused on the opportunities that digitization offers as well as the challenges that it entails” said Martin Ott, Managing Director Central Europe at Facebook.

Opening up the Mobility Debate Across Industries

The Hall 3.1 welcomed many high-profile politicians such as Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU), Cem Özdemir (Die Grünen) and EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger. Brigitte Zypries, Federal Minister of Economics and Energy, also joined the FORUM Main stage to affirm the necessity for the German automobile industry to reinvent itself by embracing new technologies and new business models. By involving political representatives, NMW intends to broaden the mobility ecosystem and foster collaborations across industries. In fact, it is crucial to involve all stakeholders — passengers, drivers, corporations, policy-makers, designers, engineers, and beyond — to shape the system.
